Effectively on 19th February 2018, Department of Civil Aviation (‘DCA’), a government agency under the Ministry of Transport was incorporated into a statutory body known as Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (‘CAAM’). Function of the DCA are currently carried out by the CAAM. The incorporation of the CAAM is in line with the requirement of the ICAO which has called upon contacting states to the Chicago Convention to establish an autonomous civil aviation authority to ensure efficient management of the safety and security of the civil aviation.
As a sole civil aviation technical regulator in Malaysia with the primary function to regulate the safety and security of civil aviation, CAAM seeks to ensure efficient management of the safety and security of the civil aviation.”
CAAM was successfully certified for the following certification:-
1) MS ISO/IEC 27001:2005 ISMS on 28th March 2014 for the following scope:
MAAIS system supported by CAAM located in the server room
2) MS ISO 9001:2008 QMS on 31st March 2014 for the following scopes:
Provision of Services for Integrated Aeronautical Information Package (AIP) which consists
of AIP; and Supplements to the AIP; and Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC).
Provision of Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) Proposal
3) MS ISO 9001:2008 QMS on 31st March 2014 for the following scope:
Provision of Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) including NOTAM Summary , NOTAM and Pre-flight
Information Bulletin (PIB); Checklists and Lists of valid NOTAM except Flight Plan activity
