Advertisements
You are planning for your next holiday and came across an airline’s promotional advertisement for a flight. An airline must ensure they publish an all-inclusive price which consists of:
- Base fare (includes all charges payable to the airline);
- Taxes and fees imposed by the Government;
- Fees and charges prescribed under any written law;
- Fuel surcharge; and
- Other fees and charges as determined by the Commission to be imposed on consumers by airlines. (e.g., carbon fee)
For further details, please refer to this Guidance on Advertisement of Air Fare to ensure full disclosure of airfare by airlines when publishing their advertisements. (Note: Please be advised that this guidance remains applicable and enforceable following the rationalisation of MAVCOM and CAAM, effective 1 August 2025).
