Metrics Used to Evaluate Airline Performance
The metrics used to evaluate airline performance are as follows:
On-time performance (OTP) | Airlines are required to achieve a minimum of 85% OTP every month. | Flights operated on time: Flights that depart within 15 minutes of the scheduled time of departure (STD) | |
Flight delay: Flights that are rescheduled for more than 15 minutes within 24 hours of the STD would be reported as a flight delay | |||
Flight cancellation | Airlines are required to operate a minimum of 80% of their scheduled flights every month, and flight cancellations are not permitted to exceed 20%. | Operated flights: Number of flights operated by the airline against flights scheduled | |
Flight cancellation: Number of scheduled flights that are cancelled by the airline |
